Community nutrition is a branch of nutrition science which is totally associated with the process of helping individuals and groups develop healthy eating habits for the sake of wellness and disease prevention. Activities of community nutrition includes nutrition education, nutrition or health promotion, food programs, regional or national supplementation programs, preventive measures, local policy analysis and development, and the like. The crucial goal of community nutrition is emphasizing on achieving food and nutrition security for the population. Community nutritionists are those who translate general recommendations into action.
